We thoughtfully work out the details and methods it takes to bring new life to your historic building.
CASE STUDY: Porter County Museum Artifact Restoration
POCO Muse turned to us for restoration when an artifact from the early 1900's was damaged in transit. We painstakingly repaired the cornerstone which had broken into multiple pieces and matched the grain and color of the original limestone, filled in the missing sections, and installed the finished work in a specially constructed steel frame. Visit the Porter County Museum at 20 Indiana Avenue to see the finished masterpiece.
CASE STUDY: 16 Indiana Ave. Facade Renovation
We were given a challenge: take a one hundred plus year old dual head gas streetlight, split it into two individual lights and convert them into wall sconces for 16 Indiana Avenue. After some meticulous metal fabrication, creation of mounting brackets, custom powdercoating, and adding electrical components, we presented the owner with these beautiful fixtures. They are quite heavy so we had to take extra precautions when mounting the new fixtures to the wall.
CASE STUDY: Indiana Landmarks Gary Field Office
We were given yet another challenge: the stairs at the rear entrance to the field office of Indiana Landmarks were falling apart and deteriorating. The local landmark building was constructed in the 1920's and it was time for restoration. Using up-to-date materials and methods, we repaired the stairs and restored them to a like-new condition.
